For lack of something interesting to post...
I'm in a lull here at work. I've managed to put every project I have in a state of waiting for a response from someone else. So, here I sit...hitting Send/Receive in Outlook....
So, before I get dumped on by the answer to every question I've asked today, I thought I'd blog quick. I don't have anything interesting really to talk about. So prepare to be bored.
Movies I've enjoyed recently:
- I watched Cars over Thanksgiving weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. I keep expecting Pixar to come out with a dud, but it doesn't happen. I mean, it's no Incredibles, but it was pretty cute. And Mater is the cutest Pixar character yet, in my opinion.
- Jerod and I also went to Stranger Then Fiction in the theater. I was a little nervous of the Will Farrell-factor, but he was actually fairly calm and showed some acting ability in this one. It's pretty cute. It's a good one for the predestination/free-will debators......um, which does not include me.
- Is it just me or is there nothing in the theaters that seems intriguing? Isn't this supposed to be the time of the year when all the good stuff comes out?
- So, is anyone excited for The Nativity Story? I really hope it's somewhat Biblically accurate and not cheesy.
- We've got all the supplies for the invitations. Yay! To see my name in all curly fancy font on an invitation is kinda weird.
- We still haven't found an officiant. I don't think this should be a difficult thing.
- I'm liking more and more the idea of silk flowers. I used to be very much against them. But, I AM a fan of being able to prepare as many things as possible in advance.
- Also, it is REALLY that big of a faux pax if I don't handwrite the addresses on the envelopes? Who here would be offended by a computer printed address label?
- Ok, I know my sister is rolling her eyes right now and muttering "Bridezilla" under her breath because of the fact that I'm even posting about this stuff, so I'll quit with the wedding stuff.
- Jerod and I are talking about adopting an Akita from Akita-rescue. I'm a little worried about Cache's reaction about not being the center of the universe anymore. But, I think in the long run, he would really love a buddy.
- So this would mean, TWO dogs to clean up after.....*sigh* It's worth it, right?

I liked Cars, too - it was fun. (And I had thought there was NO WAY I would enjoy an animated movie with cars as characters.) Hadn't heard of Stranger Than Fiction...the last movie I went to was The Prestige, which was good, but nothing else has looked too exciting since. I am excited about the The Nativity Story - I think. At least the preview gave me shivers. But it could end being a cheesy story all about Mary and Joseph, too.
Heck no. I would be disappointed if I did get a hand-addressed wedding invitation. Working for CU, I really think you have a good excuse to print labels, and you should take advantage of it!
Akitas sound...Japanese or something. I've never seen one. But I'm sure Cache would get used to having a brother or sister.
Thanks for the encouragement, Amanda. It seems like when I suggest to people that I may be printing out address labels, they just gasp a little and are like, "Oh...really?? That's interesting." I guess I never realized how much people put stock in etiquette. But, I guess I have inherited some of my mom's obsessiveness about thank-you notes, so it all depends on the person apparently.
Akitas are super-cute. Everyone I've met has been really calm and I think Cache needs that good influence. You can read more about them and see a cute picture here.
RE: Wedding - Bridezilla doesn't come out to play until the last month before the wedding. You're still saintly, and your comments are normal!
RE: Movies -- check out My blog because I have a new movie blog. Then We can talk about your lack of enthusiasm!
Well, it just doesn't seem like anyone should care so much how their wedding invitations (to, um, your wedding) are addressed... Not of course, that I'm exactly a model of what should be good etiquette myself. (I always get thank-you notes from you, and I don't think you get them from me...)
Akitas are cute! The one in the picture looks like he would tell Cache what's what if he got too excited about something. ;)
Consider this message full of eye rolling bridezilla detesting. Brides are lame. Brides' faces can't even spell lame.
I'll show YOU lame...
