it's a joy

Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them."

A Conversation of One

And now I will complain about the very thing I am going to write about. Um....yeah.

I've become one of "those girls". I'm not quite sure it's at the Bridezilla status yet, but if I was a friend in my life right now I would be all like, "Dude. Stop it. You're out of control." You know what I'm talking about. Because if you read my infrequent and bland ramblings here lately, you know what has been the topic of conversation and what saturates the oxygen I breathe and every neuron connection in my brain. And (if you haven't already closed your browser) you're all, "Chick, if you say the word 'wedding' one more time, I'm going to rip off your lips and stuff them up your nose and how will THAT look in your pictures while you're standing in your gorgeous dress next to you hot new husband??"

This is basically every conversation of my day:
Person other then me: How's it going?
Me: Oh my gosh, I'm SO tired and I'm so busy planning and we FINALLY got our engagement shots done and we got two wedding presents in the mail yesterday and I did my final fitting and I finally have my dress oh my gosh my dress is so beautiful and it's hanging in my bedroom RIGHT NOW can you believe it it's almost here I can tell you down to the second how long it is until my wedding do you want to know because I'll tell you and I'll tell you every crazy story that is going on in my life because they are all freakin' HILARIOUS because they have to do with MY wedding which is so important that I have to tell you every single detail....(continues on blathering for 20 minutes)
Person other then me: *wide eyes, drool gathering on quivering bottom lip*
Me: *deep breath* Yeah, so anyway, how's it going with you?
Person other then me: ...um...*sound of crickets*
Me: Yeah, ok. I'll talk to you later.

Then I turn and walk away and say to myself, "Dang it, I can't beLIEVE I just did that again. Are you capable of having a normal semi-unselfish conversation anymore??"

Today, this actually happened across...a parking lot!

I was never gonna be this girl. What happened? Soon it will be over, my friends...and we will all be out of our misery.

Yeah, so anyway, how's it going with you?

I'm sorry you're so upset with yourself. But a lot of your friends think your wedding is a pretty Big Deal too, you know.

That's cool that The Dress is in residence now! :)

ps - I love that verification word you posted about on my blog. It's so going in the dissertation.

It's a season of life, Andrea. Run with it! I remember years ago going to the State Christian school BB tournament and being totally absorbed with it, while very few of my friends were. At that time I felt I began to understand the Ecc. passage about "a time for. . . ." There is a time for basketball, and there is a time for weddings; enjoy each "season" and give glory to God!
