I had my own little goal while in Florence to find all three statues of David and take a picture. It took a little bit of walking and some rule breaking, but we got 'er done.

This is Michaelangelo's David in all it's glory. This is the real honest to goodness huge marble man David. You are not allowed to take pictures of him, but I did. I had to. I had a goal. This was TOTALLY worth the money to get into the Academy of Art. Nothing else there really interested us, but this guy was so awesome, it made it worth it.

Here is the third David we found. It is a bronze in Piazza Michaelangelo, which is up on a hill that is quite a hike from the city center. But, we did it one evening as it was cooling off and we got to watch the sun go down. It was worth every sweaty step.

That's us with Santa Croce in the background.

Here's a shot of Palazzo Vecchio, the Duomo and Santa Croce.
We ate dinner up on the hill at (of course) Ristorante Michaelangelo. These are just some shots I took while we were up there.

That evening when we finally made it back to the hotel, my ankle was bothering me, so I put it up while Jerod went out for gelato. Little did I know that he was actually out buying us a bottle of wine to enjoy on our last night in Florence. He came back with this.

He said he saw my name on it and had to get it. And I lugged that bottle all the way home and it's sitting on my fridge right now.
Tomorrow I'll have some pictures from Siena!
